Default Marriage to Out of Status F1 Visa Holder

I'm currently in the US on an F1 Visa, but fell out of status for not attending class due to some reasons. I have been with my girlfriend who is a US citizen for some time now, we intend getting married by the end of this year. My question are :

    1) is it going to be possible to get married to her without being in status.

    2) Is is going to be possible to get married to her without having a SSN.

    3) If it is what are my chances of getting a green card after marriage.

Thank you very much for your help.

You will have to investigate the laws of the state in which you intend to marry. Some states require proof of lawful presence in the country before they will issue a marriage license. You do not need a Social Security Number to marry. I know nothing of your circumstances beyond your being out-of-status, so I'm not going to speculate as to your chances of successfully adjusting your status. You know far better than we can, whether or not the USCIS is likely to regard your marriage as bona fide.

Thank you very much for your information Mr Knowitall, it is well appreciated. I hope by shedding a little bit more light on my circumstances you probably would be able to understand where I stand at the moment. Right now I'm in Alabama, I have been out of status for about 3 months, I have a 2 year multiple F-1 visa which would expire in 2013. From previous questions and answers on this sort of issue, I understand it would be possible to adjust my status based on grounds of marriage. So I guess what your saying is my getting back in status is practically based on whether or not USCIS regards my marriage as bona fide. My questions now are :

    1) Do I stand any chance at all of getting back in status.

    2) Why would USCIS think the marriage isn't bona fide when I have a legitimate marriage license.

    Thank you.
