My question involves real estate located in the State of: Alabama. In 1937 my grandmother, Emma, and her sister, Zelina, established a deed for a driveway that went through Zelina's property so that Emma could access her property. In 1975 Emma sold all her property to my parents (she was my dad's mother). My parents sold it in 1989 to someone named Don. This past March I bought the property back from Don and discovered that the driveway is deeded and is still in my grandmother's name. Taxes are paid on Zelina's old property as if there was no driveway established. Can I get the driveway by adverse possession? I need title to it so that I can maintain it and possibly have it paved in the future.
