    Default Adjusting Status After Marriage

After getting married to an immigrant on a B1/B2 Visa, how long does the adjustment of status take. And as far as traveling in the US, are there any restrictions?

Default Re: Adjusting Status After Marriage

It generally takes anywhere from a few months to a year for an I-485 to be approved; it can take longer. It depends entirely upon the facts of the case.

Traveling within the U.S. does not require advance parole. Issues can arise with such travel as cruises that may start and stop in the U.S. but may enter foreign ports, travel that involves a layover in another country (not usually an issue with U.S. travel, but...), etc.
