    Default Sixteen-Year-Old Wants to be Emancipated

    I, Myself am very confused when it comes to laws on Emanication. I have a 16year old son, who wants to be emanciapted due to the facts, that he by all means has proven he can financially support & provide for himself, but wants the freedom to make mistakes & me(mom) does not have to answer for. Meaning if he gets in trouble, the law would not require me, his only parent, to attend court or anything to that nature, because that causes me to jeopordize my work by leaving or missing.If anyone has any answers, that would greatly be appreicated.

    Laws are different in each state. Read the threads stickied at the top of the forum.
