My question involves criminal law for the state of: Douglas, Nebraska
I`ll give you a short version of what went down that night.
about two weeks ago me and about ten or so friends decided to go camping in Douglas NE. we were able to procure some alcohol and we were all having a fun time. about an hour before it got dark the park ranger drove around, and some idiot left a bottle of vodka sitting on the picnic table he saw it and stopped and called the main office and was like should i just kick them out or call the state trooper, and one thing led to another and he calls the state trooper. We were all breathalyzed and about half of us blew numbers. The people who blew numbers got an mip which unfortunately included me. We all got a court date on the same day
I`m seventeen years old and this is my first mip.
On my court date which is july 27 my parents planned a camping trip that week. They won`t change it.
So my questions are:
Do i need an adult with me at court
-Does it have to be a legal parent?
-Can i use a family member such as an aunt or grandpa?
-or even a friends mom?
I have gotten one speeding ticket for going twenty over will that make a difference in the outcome?
-Price of fine etc...?
How come only people who blew numbers got an mip? Technically we had the alcohol as a whole, so we should of all got an mip.
What is most likely the outcome of the whole thing?
-fine?
-community service?
-jail. doubt it, but hey what the hell do i know
and yes i have read around they say anywhere from 100$ to 500$ fine and/or up too 3 months in jail(dont quote me on the numbers)
That`s all i could think of at the moment. Please, Please respond i will take any information that will help. and again Thank you.
