My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: Florida
We had to fire our landscape service at the end of March b/c his equipment was damaging our property - they' were just careless. At that time, we paid him in full (by check), that check was cashed and that was the end of our relationship. Since then, he has continued to bill us every single month and has been sending us "past due" notices. We have emailed, called, left messages, etc each time we receive a bill but he doesn't reply. He has not done any landscaping of our property since we fired him but our neighbor continues to use him.
What do we do to get him to stop billing us for services that aren't rendered or authorized? He only has a PO Box, so we can't send a certified letter. We do have surveillance cameras on the exterior of our house and know for fact that he doesn't cut our lawn. Advice? Suggestions? Right now, he's claiming we owe him for the past 4 months, including the one that was paid in full when we let him go.
