Default Summons but No Complaint Attached

My question involves a marriage in the state of: maryland

What to do if one receives a "summons" from court but the actual complaint is not attached? The affidavit of service has been filed. Isn't it improper service? How to let the court know about this fact?

You are free to file a motion with the court contesting service. If you succeed, you can expect to be served a second time. You can also consider simply contacting the plaintiff, describing the problem, and having the plaintiff send you a copy of the complaint, or getting a copy of the complaint from the court file.
