My question involves criminal law for the state of: TN
Back Story: In 2009 I was sentenced to 3 years probation(diversion) for aggravated burglary. My requirements included NO restitution and be gainfully employed or go back to College. ( I really impressed the judge and prosecutor). In November I found out there were no immediate colleges in my area that had a credible curriculum for my major. And I decided to move to a state where i have family, can get a job and go to school to complete my degree. In January i was caught driving on suspended license and in February i notified my probation officer. At the time she threatened to violate my probation. I missed my appointment in march because i started a new job. (Showed Proof of hours). In April I came back and she told me that she had turned in An "Order of Probation Violation." At the time i was under the assumption that she had violated my probation." I asked a few guys at work who have had legal troubles and they say that she violated me and to seek a lawyer (Some said to run and if i go far enough they wont catch me. Not worried bout being caught. I can disappear. I want this crap off my record.). I did so and they told me in the mean time to check warrant system for my area. To this day i still have no warrant. In May of this month I went back to see my probation officer again. At this point I asked her what is going on because its been a month since she told me that and nothing has happened. No police at home or at work. No phone calls to submit myself.. She claims that she only sent in an order request form and that I'm in a violation status. Not that my probation has been violated. She told me that I can not begin my transfer process until I am clear of this status. I've already sent in my application for school and finished my FAFSA. School starts in august and this is holding me back. At any rate i need to be proactive. Is she just yanking my chain or should i just prepare to not go at all. By the way the lawyers didnt take this serious at all but they did not tell me to ignore it either.....(help)
......Most of the people i talked to said it took less than an hour for a warrant to hit the system on their charges.
