When a summons states that failure to respond may result in a warrant being issued for your arrest, is that plausible?
Is it just a threat or can they cross state lines and extradite you to a state you have no ties to?
Thanks.

I take it this is for a child support order, etc. Extradition on a warrant, and this would be a bench warrant, probably, it is soley up to the entity issuing it. Depending on how far they wish to seek you, it can be a nationwide warrant, yes.
No, not yet. But if it does arise, I was just wondering. Thanks for the response. Much appreciated.
Also. If a summons is issued via mail and is not sent certified to verify I received it... (I'm out of town at the time) can the court take action on my behalf if I am the respondent?
This is a paternity action? If you ignore a summons for paternity you can expect to lose your opportunity for DNA testing.
No, it's a custody/visitation action. I'm the respondent now because the mother wanted to change the venue to a different state.
