    Default Steps in Filing Bankruptcy

My question involves bankruptcy in the state of: ca

I know filing for bankruptcy is a pretty big step with consequences that can last for as long as 10 years. I wanted to be able to avoid this ordeal. They say that for many people, taking simple steps such as restructuring debt can make all the difference between staying afloat and drowning in debt. So how do I go about this? Thanks.

Honestly? Much depends on a) how much you're in debt and b) your assets.

Without having a clue about those two things, it's really impossible to say which would be best...because often, bankruptcy is actually the better option.
