Default What to Expect in a 'Theft 2' Charge in Oregon

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Oregon

I was caught shoplifting in Jcpeneys, im 20 years old and this is my first offence, my question is what should i do/ expect? I see 'theft diverson' programs online, if i take and complete one before court would that help me?
    Thank you for your time.

Diversion programs are usually a court-ordered thing.

Go to court. If you cannot afford a lawyer, plead Not Guilty and ask for a public defender.
