My question involves divorce in the State of: IL
Ok so im having a problem with my divorce today was the first day of trial and she is asking me to pay for items that are premarital. For an example she had bought me a bulldog puppy for my birthday back in 2007. the judge did at first agree that the dog is my property but later on she change her mind and now wants me to pay my wife 1000 for the dog. I don’t understand this at all at the beginning of the trial the judge told us both that she can only look at items that were purchased after the wedding date and let me just say all the items that my wife is asking me to pay for are premarital. My wife was just giving the judge numbers with no proof at all just the last page of her credit card bill with what she owes on it. The judge did not want to hear anything I had to say I feel like I was forced to sign the papers. But thank god my wife opened her mouth and told the judge about some order that my old attorney had put in when I fired him. So everything was void after that and we are still married.
thank you
