My question involves an eviction in the state of: South Carolina
I am being evicted me & my two small children because of a typo on my no trespassing list.
I had a friend over and her and another Tenant had verbal arguement and the police where called. the police arrived and stated to my guest that she was now placed on the no trespass list and allowed her to leave. It was later on that they found out she had been on the list since March of 2005. The following day I went to the office to discuss the night before. The mangement explained to me that I knew my guest was on the no trespass list, I explained to her that my guest and the person on the list where two different people because of the typo I thought it was a totally different person. I called my local police department and they also stated she was not on the list.
The next following week I received a eviction notice stating I had 30 day to leave and I could ask for a hearing. I requested my hearing, at the hearing I was told one letter in a person's names is'nt going to make a difference. It made a difference to me because that one letter changed the whole spelling of my guests first name. Ten days later I recevied another letter stating that the eviction still stands and I can request another hearing. I am waiting on my second hearing and is in need of some advice on what I can do about the mistake that they made, now me and my children are probably going to be homeless........
