Default Calls from Lawyer After Judgement Has Been Entered

My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: Michigan The judgement for a civil suit from a credit card company has been entered. 1: How soon must the card company notify me if they are going to garnish my checking account? 2: Can the lawyer hired by the company continue to call me now that the judgement has been entered?
    Thank you

Thank you for the web site information. It is very helpful. Also, do you know how long can a lawyer keep calling about this debt after the judgement has been entered. I keep getting calls from the companies lawyer.. Thank you for your assistance

Tell him to stop calling. There's no particular reason they need talk to you at all. They only need comply with notice before the garnishment occurs. They have to wait 21 days after the judgment is entered, get a writ, and then give you 14 day notice before it starts. They've usually got quite some time (ten years in most cases) to collect on the judgement and even then it can be renewed if done before it expires. The judgement statute of limitations ceases to run while you're making any sort of payment on it.
