Default Re: Divorce with Children - Marriage Counseling

It's at the discretion of the judge and entirely dependent on any SPECIFIC issues that might be involved. Marriage counseling is usually a moot point if the parties are divorced. Other types of counseling might be appropriate, but again, depends on what's going on.

Default Re: Divorce with Children - Marriage Counseling

I meant in-the-process of divorcing, not once divorced. I've heard (not the best for relying on) that when you have children under 16 the courts make parents go to counseling before allowing divorce (unless situations such as abuse, etc, are involved) and I was told this is because courts want to make sure parents have tried everything before resulting to divorce. So this is why I asked for clarification on the subject.

What if one parent wants divorce, the other doesn't?
