I have been living in France since 2006. My wife never joined me and we have been living a part for many years.
While we both U.S. citizens, I have also the French passport, and the marriage has been registered in France as well.
Now I would like to divorce, but I don’t know if I can file a divorce to an US Court from France or if I need to file the divorce first in France, get the divorce here, and then get the divorce recognized by an U.S. Court.
In other words, I'd like to know if I can access to an “American divorce” living overseas or if I need go through a “French divorce” first.
Thanks
Marc.
