My question involves medical malpractice in the state of: IL
Relative (82 yrs old) underwent heart bypass and came through the surgery fine but several primary drs on medical team left town and other drs covered for them. Shortly thereafter he experienced problem after problem -- drs attributed to lungs, kidneys, liver, gallbladder problems, but drs didn't seem to agree on cause or solution, eventually jaundice set in, then pnemonia and death after a week. Family ordered complete medical records and autopsy; also hired private pathologist for a 2nd autopsy outside the hospital where this occured. Preliminary cause of death commented on fluid overload causing kidneys to shut down and heart failure but awaiting final results. Would appreciate advice on how to proceed with wrongful death inquiry.
