My friends and I would like to have Mixed Martial Arts matches, but people said that's illegal. So we moved to kick boxing matches. Are either illegal? We are minors and we live in Ohio. We were gonna do it at different kinds of places.

In Ohio, amateur combat sports may only take place under the auspices of a licensed club or gym. That means MMA, kickboxing, boxing, karate, judo, etc. will get you into a pile of trouble if you're beating the hell out of each other in the backyard instead of in a regulated club with proper safety equipment, instruction, and supervision.

Why would you like to arrange such things in the first place? If you want physical training then join a mixed martial art school and practice there.
