My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Illinois
Hi,
I was driving on a 2 lane roadway and there was a driver ahead of me who was going very very slow and below the speed limit. So i passed them and went ahead of him. The cop pulls me over for passing by in a no passing zone. The cop was very rude and intimidating. Then another police officer came, he did not see what happend but just wrote up the tickets. I got 4 tickets, one for not having my license on me(that will hopefully get waived off when i show it to them in court), Another for speeding going 45 in a 35(I am pretty sure the maximum i was going was 40 just to pass the slow driver ahead of me), the third one for passing in a no passing zone, and the fourth for wreckless driving...
I know i passed the car in the no passing zone, i am not sure whether i was doing 5 or 10 mph over the limit, and i 100% dont think i deserve this wreckless driving ticket as i was late for class and the person ahead of me was going way below the speed limit. Is there any way i could have this waved off? how do i explain this to the judge? I know for a fact that i did not commit reckless driving, even if i was going 10 over, I only did it to pass the slow driver ahead of me. The cop was very intimidating also, when i called to ask someone in my family where the insurance was in my far the cop yelled to put down the phone otherwise he would do something...even though he was the one who asked me to take out insurance.
I am not sure what to do at this point, I know im 100% innocent of this wreckless driving charge, The last thing i need is my license suspended. I have school and work. I have only gotten 1 other speeding ticket and thats it, which will probably be waived off after im done with traffic school hopefully. and that was only 10mph over.
Some please weigh in and help me as i am very scared and nervous.Thanks.
