    Default Question: Have You Ever Given False or Misleading Information to a USCIS Official

    When I applied for my permanent residence I negligently omitted an infraction which the office found out about and they held the processing until I provided with the necessary documentation showing the infraction which was attached along with a letter of apology - the permanent resident card was granted, to which I am very thankful.

    Would this be considered giving false or misleading information?

    What are the consequences of answering "yes" to this question?

    Based upon what you have told us the answer would be "yes", and you would attach your explanation. You may want to work with an immigration lawyer.
