Default Assault and battery after a huge fight with boyfriend

in south carolina my boyfriend and i got in a huge fight that led to a shoving, clothes throwing loud ugly match that ended up outside. someone called the police. he remained outside trying to find his car keys and i went in. the police came to the door and wrote me a ticket for disorderly conduct and i showed him a cut/wall burn i had on my elbow from him pushing me.i am also 6 months pregnant. my boyfriend got arrested and taken to jail for having an unlawful possession of a gun. he also got charged with assault and battery and disorderly conduct. a police officer came to my door the night after my boyfriend got released from jail and told me that my boyfriend said if i dropped the assault and battery charges then he would not charge me with vandalism for his car. no talk of vandalism occured the night of the incident and i'm sure he's just trying to get me to drop the charges by any means necessary. i have some questions. what is the most likely outcome when i go to court for the disorderly conduct? what kind of sentence can he get for all his charges? and i never said that i wanted to press charges against him for assault, i just showed the officer my cut/scrape so can that charge be dropped?thanks a lot for your time.

On the disorderly conduct if convicted of that you are most likely looking at a fine with no jail time--in the scheme of things it is a relatively minor offense.

On the domestic battery/assault that is another matter. It is not up to you whether to drop charges--the prosecutor has that sole authority--although you can make your wishes known to the prosecutor. If convicted of a domestic battery/assault, jail time is more likely although I've seen and handled cases on both sides that ended up with no jail time imposed--counseling is almost always involved in the disposition. He needs to seriously consider getting an attorney there--he has the weapons charge to contend with as well.

I would fight it! If it vandalism never came up who is to say what happened to his car is from you. who knows how long the damage was done there. he may have 300 enemies. Dont take that shit from him and make sure he gets a dose of what he needs in jail. Any man that hits a girl isnt a man at all.
