Default Caught Stealing Food, No Police Involvement or Civil Demand Yet

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Ohio

    Hey,

I did a very dumb thing. March 20 or so, I took food to the back of the store without paying for it and ate it for lunch. Asset Protection questioned me, no cops were involved. My employment was terminated and all.....he said 'they can file civil suit' against me but didn't say they would. It was less than $10 worth of things and I am very remorseful....the next week I sent in a letter of apology and $20 to cover the expense. I've been watching for a recovery or demand letter to come into the mail but nothing yet. Do you think, in your opinion, that they will file civil demand?

Also, this will not go on my criminal record right?? I'm going on an internship in Vancouver, BC, Canada next month....I don't want to be denied entry when I leave
