My question involves real estate located in the State of: Oklahoma
So, this isn't really a dispute, and I don't know that it ever will be, but I'd like a little advice.
We bought this house in July of 2010. Here is the property description from my closing papers.
The blue line is where there is an existing chainlink fence. It's old and in poor shape, and I'm going to be replacing it with a privacy fence. Now, when I bought the house, the seller (who also owns the other house and rents it out) made a comment about my yard being a weird shape because it went back and over (referencing the chainlink line). He was friendly and owns a bunch of rent houses. We bought this one when he was selling off a few of them.
I'd assumed the chainlink was the line until I pulled out this description and looked online at the map lines; it appears that my line actually goes straight back from the far side of the driveway. The pink line is where I was going to install a new section of privacy fence with this in mind. However, two of the fence companies that have come to give quotes said that the chainlink is obviously the actual property line because it's clearly fencing in my yard (the green line is stock fence around the neighbor's yard that ends at my chainlink).
The house next door is run by a property rental place, so I'm not sure if I should try to get ahold of the owner to ask him what he thinks and risk an issue coming up and just 1) put my fence on the straight line or 2) put it along the chainlink line.
Opinions?
