Post Forced to Return to Work when Not Ready

My question involves workers compensation law for the state of: DC
Can workers comp force an injured worker back to work when they are not ready. Meaning still having pain from the injury?

Well, no one is holding a gun to the employee's head. But yes, worker's comp can refuse to pay lost wages any longer when the medical evidence suggests that the employee is able to return to work, even if the employee feels that they should be allowed to stay out longer. If the employee got to make the decision, there are some people who would never go back and just collect benefits for sitting at home forever. (I am NOT saying that you are among that number, but they definitely exist and I have known some.)
