My question involves child support in the State of: MD
My question involves a child custody case from the State of: MD
My 12-yr-old son's father is a mess. We've been split for almost 11 years, never married, son has his last noame and he is on the birth certificate. Child Support has been sporadic over the years, went MIA for about 18 months at one time. Have court ordered child support since Jan 2009 but no visitation agreement. I get payments about every 3 months (sometimes), yet I hear of trips that he takes, electronics that he buys, people he brings into his home to support. He works under the table for people, hasn't had a paycheck to garnish in 6 years, hasn't worked (this time around) in 6 months yet somehow rounded up money to go to the beach for spring break.
I'm tired of my husband and I working our butts off (he does sidejobs to make extra cash after he works his full time job) to make sure our kids are taking care of and the biological father takes no responsibility whatsoever.
Can I legally tell him he can't see our son until he gets his priorities straightened out?
P.S. it's not just the money - he's minimally involved. Picks up our son every other weekend, but doesn't even know the name of the school he's going to. Never calls his son to say hi, doesn't know any of his friends, never comes to a soccer game, etc.
