    Default Domestic Battery

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Kansas

My Husband and I recieved papers from a Deputy a few days ago....for Domestic Battery. We did have a fight but it was a month ago and are just not being served papers. He is in the Military and is just getting back from Iraq, we are supposed to be getting stationed at Fort Campbell in a little over a month.....I was wondering what exactly is going to happen and is there a way to get out of it as in out of the charges. THis could ruin his career.

THe papers say....the city prosecuter of lawful age, being duly sworn on oath, for complaint against the above shown accused person alleges and states:

That on the 16th day of March 2011 my husband within the corporote limits of the above city and state did then and there in violation of the ordinances of said city willfully unlawfully and intentionally
count 1.....then list the details of the arguement....slapping and punching

    Please Help!

p.s. neither of us has been an any trouble before and have never fought like this before. oh and the charge is 220.150 of the code of the city of JC, 1994 Domestic Battery

Given the nature of the charge and your husband's being in the military, it would obviously be a good idea for him to retain a lawyer to defend him against the charge. A domestic violence conviction could be career-ending.
