    I recently worked a shift that took me over midnight and into the next day. I was already on overtime because I started at 1pm that day. As soon as the clock struck midnight my time changed back to regular pay even though it was the same shift. I questioned my HR lady and she said, thats because it starts a new day. So I think it is legal. However, if this is your regular scheduled shift that you will be working all the time, then I think the company has to account for that and pay you overtime. It does not make since that they would be able to get away with that if it is a regular scheduled shift. If so, then that most definately would have been something that should have been discussed and possibly on some of the hire paperwork you signed. Look at those papers and see what it says. Company Handbook? Policies? etc...
