My question involves a credit report problem in the State of: California

Hello,

I checked my credit report the other day and for some reason, one of my creditors did a hard inquiry every 4th day of the month from April 2009 through September 2009. This was an account that was in good standing and I had not asked for a credit limit increase, etc. I contacted them to ask why they did this and I got a canned answer that they have the right to check my credit since we have a business relationship. I thought companies could check your credit periodically if you have a relationship, but that it would be a soft inquiry. Is that not correct?

Anyway, I asked them to remove the inquiries and they told me they couldn't, that only the credit bureaus could do that. I contacted the credit bureaus and they told me only the creditor could remove hard inquiries. So what is my recourse if this company will not contact the credit bureaus to remove these inquiries? I believe these should not have been hard inquiries.

Thanks in advance for any help.
