Umm,..........Please explain why you think you incurred a medical debt at the age of 8.

Presumablybecause he or she received medical treatment at the age of 8, with an outstanding bill.

How did these debts come to your attention? Through a bill collector?

Depending upon the nature of the contract, the statute of limitations would either be four or six years. But was there actually a contract with you, or was the contract between the service provider and your parent or guardian?

i have been trying to pay off my debts so i can attempt to clean up my credit. and i remembered getting notices of past due payment on an old medical bill so i called the hospital to see how much i owed them and they gave me the past due amounts and the dates they were incurred, based on my ssn. only one of the amounts was after i turned 18, the only one i was aware of, which i am more than willing to pay, but i don't see the logic in holding me accountable for debts that should have been paid by my parents when i was 8, 15, and 16.

I had this happen to me where they tried to bill me for medical care from when I was 12 years old. I wrote the collection agency a letter explaining that I was under 18 at the time of service and am not responsible for the bills. I also asked them to remove it from my credit report. I had to send them several letters, but they finally did remove it. Have you tried this at all?
