Default Lying to Take My Dog

My question involves restraining orders in the State of: CALIFORNIA

I have posted couple questions about a civil harassment RO granted and now a Domestic Violence request that the court is willing to allow although there is no affinity...I know for fact the reason x- in law is filing false accusations is to take my dog, the dog gifted to me and with me for over 2 yrs.
I am so worried and can not imagine the worst but the courts seem to believe plaintiff and even said during the DV request to plaintiff is " so what you really are concerned with is the dog being returned, so lets consolidate the small claims hearing or abandon it and just have the DV hearing which will include the issue of possession of the dog."

    this feel unbelievable to me!

I feel like this is a legal nightmare and can not stand the thought of my little dog going back to someone that does not even love her. She lived in a little cage and was neglected and not wanted. if any of you are dog lovers you will understand how distraught I feel having a legal system help someone that really is the one that needs restraining order- and thats the whole other part of the story.

So you were married, an ex-in-law gave you and your spouse a dog, you broke up with your spouse and now the ex-in-law says what? That you were taking care of the dog as a favor to them? Your ex-spouse says what?

A couple of additional questions: is the ex in law claiming that you threatened to/actually harmed the dog as a means to harass/harm them? If you are alleging mistreatment of the animal, what are the specifics?
