Default Criminal Record for Green Card Lottery

HI , I ma a kiwi who is 39, married, when I was 20yrs old I got convicted for
presenting a firearm in public, yes a serious charge but the grounds were is was a bb gun, it wasnt loaded,i dont have a violent record, no one was hurt, just drunk and young and stupid. I have no other charges at 39. I also did no jail time or no community service.Just payed the fine and got convicted.
Is It worth trying for a lottery green card?

You have several factors working in your favor here. One, you didn't serve any jail time for your offense. Two, it was nearly 20 years ago. Three, you've stayed out of trouble in the in-between.

In your shoes, I would certainly apply, but you'll want to do it with the help of an immigration attorney, because it is a complex process.
