Default Canceling a Contract With a Hotel

My question involves civil rights in the State of:

    Case study,

A representative of Cyberjaya Resort Sdn. Bhd. visits Joe on 1 March, 2011. He informs Joe, who is looking for a hotel to celebrate his wedding, that his company is prepared to offer the Hotel Ball room at a price of $3,000.00. Joe is hesitant and decides to think the matter over. The representative leaves, pointing out that the price only remains open until 8 March 2011.

On the following day, Joe sees an advertisement by Cyberjaya Resort Sdn. Bhd. which offers the Hotel Ball room at a price of $2,500.00. He immediately telephones Cyberjaya Resort in order to accept the terms of this advertisement. The company replies that owing to a high demand, the advertised offer has been withdrawn.

On 7 March, Joe telephones Cyberjaya Resort Sdn. Bhd. again. He leaves a message with the answering service in which he accepts the offer of $3,000.00 made by the company representative. He also sends a letter confirming the reservation that afternoon. He later goes for a drink at his local pub where a friend of his informs him that he can rent the Hotel Ball room for just $2,000.00. Joe rushes home and telephones Cyberjaya Resort Sdn. Bhd. expressing his wish to cancel the order. The secretary, now on duty, points out that she has not yet had an opportunity of listening to the answering service tapes but that she will note down his wishes. Joe’s letter of the 7th March arrives on the 9th March at Cyberjaya Resort Sdn. Bhd.’s premises.

Advise Joe whether he has concluded a contract with Cyberjaya Resort Sdn. Bhd.

Your professors would likely prefer that you figure it out yourself...

...and we're not going to do your homework.

This is a U.S. forum, and that's clearly not a U.S. legal issue.

The contract is invalid, nowhere have you stated that there was an initial deposit left for the ball room.

One must sign a contract and leave a deposit.
