Default Do Medicare and Medicaid Get Their Money Back After Someone Dies

I just a some questions about Medicare and Medicaid. Forgive me since I dont know much about either. My main question is what happens to the property or assests after someone dies and they had both medicare and Medicaid? Does the government get their money back? For example, my father has both and has been in the Hospital and SNF a few times. What will happen to his house after he passes? Can he leave it for his kids? or will the government seize the home to get there money back? Thanks. any information would be greatly appreciated.

Medicaid can potentially assert a lien against the real estate.
