My question involves a Federal background check and all State Checks.
Im in the military and have a teen-age daughter who was angry with me after a custody battle and falsely accused me of rape. The military "Titled" me, charged me with rape, and pushed it the ART 32. The prosecuting attorney knew my daughter had already falsely accused another individual and that she was very un-credible. He informed my attorney that he didn't want to push it to the ART 32, but after the Navy Tail hook scandal a few years back, he really didn't have a choice. During the ART 32 my defense attorney discovered my daughter had falsely accessed an additional two other individuals (four total) and exposed her and my ex as extremely un-credible and downright liars. Within days the charges were dropped/dismissed by the prosecution. As you can see, I was the victim, but still have this horrific charge on my record. I was allowed to stay in the military, keep my "Secret" security clearance, and still have a few years until I retire. I have a technical job that earns about six figures in the civilian world.
How does this charge affect my future job employment and how do I even make it through the job interview process? Can I get it expunged even though it was a federal charge?
I definitely know how the Duke Lacrosse players feel!!
