    Default Credit Card Theft Charges

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Ohio
my daughter stole her managers capitol one credit card and charged 800.00 in gift cards at kroger to the cards. she admitted to the police what she did when questioned and turned over all of the giftcards. they did a direct indictment so she did not have to go to jail but the officer said she will be served papers in a few weeks. shhe just turned 18 and is getting ready to go to college in the fall. what will happen when she is served the papers? is there anyway for her to avoid jail time? is there any sort of plea bargain we can ask for or a deferred prosecution or deferred judgement? who would we need to contact about doing that?

She needs a lawyer. YOU can't negotiate anything and she is ill-advised to try. A lawyer will be able to see if there is any wiggle room in the prosecution. However, she's got the full weight of a felony prosecution ahead of her.
