    Default Collecting Property Judgement in Ohio

    My question involves judgment recovery in the State of:OHIO

    I won a Judgement several years back and it was placed against the defendants House .. What can I do to collect this debt ?? and where do I start .. I have had a difficult time finding a ATTY. that handels these issues WHAT DO I DO?? $20,000 needed ,, but I am affraid if I try to collect they will file Bankrupcy ?? is this an issue ??

    Exactly what do you mean by "it was placed against the defendants House"? If you have a valid, enforceable lien you can consider foreclosure - a real estate lawyer can help with that. But there may be other creditors with priority, such as a mortgage lender.

    If the judgment debtor declares bankruptcy and the debt is dischargeable, you risk getting less than full recovery and (depending on the full facts and the judgment debtor's financial means) possibly no recovery.
