My question involves a driver's license issued by the State of: Illinois
Dear all,
Jan 2011, I was pulled over for driving 80mph on US101 Van Nuys area, in my car (California registration), and I hold an Illinois license. I was then told my license was suspended (my first knowledge of the suspension, honestly), and was issued ticket for 14601.1(A)vc for driving with suspended license and 22349(A)vc for speeding.
I moved to LA in March 2010 and switched my car over immediately but not my license (line too long). Later my license was suspended due to "unable to provide continuous proof of insurance" in Illinois(I had a ticket for not carrying insurance back in the days, so was under probation) since my car was switched over to California, so the insurance company was sending info to Cali not Illinois. They sent suspension letters to my Illinois address which is not being tended (school mailbox, probably returned to sender). I do have continuous insurance this whole time though.
So here I am, caught driving with a suspended license, which is suspended falsely but I agree it's my fault, and without knowing. I have since corrected the suspension in IL and got my license here California. But how should I go about the ticket?
Also, can I apply for court extension for both of the offenses?
Any service / attorney that may be helpful?
Thank you all a ton in advance!
