    Default Alimony Calculation in Texas

My question involves a marriage in the state of: Texas

I've been married for 16 years and we have three children. I currently make about $105,000/yr, she makes about $23,000/year. We bought a new home 1 year ago.

What can I expect to pay in alimony and child support? Is it a percentage of income (mine vs. hers)? How long will I have to pay alimony for?

Default Re: Alimony Calculation in Texas

Luckily for you, maintenance is capped in Texas to a maximum length of 3 years unless your spouse is unable to work due to disability/incapacitation per Family Code § 3.9605

Child support in Texas is a straight percentage of the NCP's salary.

Alimony is the lesser of $2500/month or 20% of the obligor's salary.

    info here

There's no guarantee she'd get maintenance at all, by the way - so this is something you really should speak to an attorney about!
