My question involves expungements or pardons for the state of: North Carolina.
I was convicted of misdemeanor employee theft. It was originally a felony due to what was stolen, but it was later lowered to a misdemeanor once the restitution had been paid. I was 18 when it happened and it was my first charge, but it's hindering me from getting apartments and jobs so that I can move on with my life. I want to get an expungement, but I don't know how to go about it and I don't know if I'm eligible. A synopsis of the charge:
Date of conviction: October 2010
Sentence: 18 months supervised probation, 24 hours community service, pay restitution
Fees and so on: $1,000+ restitution (paid off already), $2,000 lawyer fees (paid off already), $600+ probation and court fees (paid off already), completed community service
