My question involves an eviction in the state of: MA
I have been searching for this for a while but just haven't found a clear answer. I know of a small business that hasn't been able to pay rent for close to a year now. However, they were never served an eviction notice, so they just ended up staying there, prepared to move out once an eviction notice was given.
What is the landlord's recourse? Can the landlord file a lawsuit to recover all unpaid rent (1 year), even though he never evicted the tenant?
