My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: CA
Stupidly cosigned a student loan for $9,000. Primary defaulted - by just ignoring the loan (the loan people told me they tried to contact the primary holder, but he just ignored them) - but told me he was deferring it and going to make the payments (all through email and text - kept).
I'm going to talk to the student loan people to make the payments, but do I have legal right to sue the primary person? Also, the loan and negotiation was made here in California, but the primary holder left to a different state - will I be able to make the claim here in CA since it happened in CA?
Also, I have receipts for other payments owed to me by the primary adding up the costs to be over $11,000. And evidence that the primary will pay me back. Will I be able to file in the state of California?
