    Default Emancipation Help for Texas

OK so i have a 14 year old neice who about a month ago tried to commit sucide by overdosing on pain killers, her father (who she lives with, and has custody) put her in the hospital and then put her in a psyc ward... she was very unhappy there and has since ranway... she is roaming the streets of houston by herself with no phone or anything.. so my question for you is what all would have to happen for her to become emancipated? My next question is what would happen if we sent her money to get on a bus and come here to us, could we get charged with kidnapping? or if we went and picked her up would it be kidnapping?

From what you say, even if she were old enough to petition for emancipation, she would be a very poor candidate for emancipation. Why not get protective services involved, such that she is removed from the streets and placed under the supervision of a social worker.
