My question involves personal property located in the State of: New York. I own and operate a small self-storage business. I have two renters who I recently had to take to court for failure to pay monthly rental fees. I received judgments against both parties and they have 30-days to pay and vacate the units. Assuming they neither pay or vacate, what are my obligations with regard to disposal of their personal property? Do I try to sell it after 30-days and apply the proceeds toward their judgment? Do I have to make any kind of notifications and is there a waiting period before I can proceed with disposal? Thanks.
