Need Help - Car accident, My fault, in Connecticut
I let my girlfriend borrow my car and she got into a car accident by hitting another car (I wasn't in the car). It was her fault (she thought she had a green light). Damage was caused to my car and the other car as well. The other car had to be towed away. The passenger in the other car stated she was injured and went to the hospital (no blood etc...she said her arm hurts). The cop on scene said she seemed fine so the injury probably isn't serious.
Anyway, needless to say i'm very upset about the accident. My girlfriend is OK. The car is in bad shape but that is no my concern. I have insurance with 300/300 coverage. I also have a $2M umbrella policy. I called my insurance company and they have created a claims file etc.
I guess my questions are:
1). How worried should I be? I am freaking out right now for obvious reasons.
2). Do I need my own attorney or should I just trust the insurance company
3). As far as coverage is concerned, is my auto coverage likely to satisfy any potential claim or will my umbrella kick in?
Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!!!!
