Thumbs down Speed Racing, Exhibition of Speed Violation

My question involves a speeding ticket from the State of: Oregon, specfically Gresham.
On 3-8-11 I was returning from a trip to a friends house to try and repair part of my throttle body which started to bind up the previous day and as I was going through a block near a transit center a officer pulled me over and when he got to my window he immediately said "I hope that was worth it" I tried to explain to him that my throttle had gotten stuck, but he said he didn't believe me and I tried asking him if I could show him and he either pretended to not hear me or he ignored my simple request. not 2 minutes later when I got him I popped the hood and I found that my throttle return spring was broke. The only reason he was able to hear my car was because the previous day it had gotten pulled off when I was trying to exit a driveway at a local business, so my car sounds like it's modified which it is not besides being lowered.

    Car info:
extremely lowered 1987 Toyota Cressida Sedan.

I wasn't racing anyone or myself, I've never had a problem prior through that block of neighborhood. Could I possibly mention I felt I am being discriminated against due to the fact my car is lowered and due to the lack of a muffler? (which I have in my trunk)

    any help is much appreciated!

I assume you fixed it yourself? No witnesses? Did you at least keep the broken spring?

ya I fixed it myself and I still have the spring. there were people waiting for various buses or the train, but I was pulled over around the corner out of view of the people.

I am not sure that knowingly driving a car with a suspect throttle would be a defense to speeding I would use.
