Question Will a Municipal Ordinance Violation Stay on My Criminal Record

My question involves criminal records for the state of: NJ

    Issue:
I've received a ticket for littering, Court appearance required.
    (Princeton Boro ordinance 25-40)

    My question is:
Is this going to stay on my criminal record?

(I know these questions on muni ordinance violations have been asked in closed threads...)

I'm too thickheaded to understand what the codebook says:
    http://www.princetonboro.org/codebook.cfm

It appears to be a payable violation:
    http://www.princetonparking.org/pdfs...s_feesched.pdf

I've even called an attorney, but he was too kind to take my money...
He just told me to pay it off and hung up. Thanks.

A muncipal ordinance violation doesn't go on your criminal record, but there's still a record of the incident and its resolution, and it's still possible for people to find out. If you plead guilty but subsequently keep your nose clean you may eventually be able to expunge the ordinance violation conviction. NJSA § 2C:52-4.
