Default Proving Dismissal Was Due to Gender Discrimination

If I (male) were unceremoniously dismissed from the firm without warning, which had a pattern of not interviewing men for positions, hiring women almost exclusively, and reserving leadership positions for women, would there be a case for discrimination. My employment is "at will". Women have also been dismissed from the firm as well in the past. Or would proving the dismissal was due to my gender be a stretch, legally.

Under the circumstances you describe, since both men and women have been dismissed, you'd have a very hard time proving it was due to your gender.

You would have to prove you were dismissed just due to your gender to have a case of discrimination. However, it would be hard to prove, as cbg noted, since women have also been dismissed from the company.
