Default Retail Fraud by an Employee in Michigan

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Michigan.
I have been suspended as an employee of meijers for taking candybars, chips etc..67 dollars worth of stuff, i confessed to our loss prevention and told them everything i stole or got for free. im a 20 year old college student and dont want this on my record or face legal issues or prosecution. i was wondering what the chances are of me just paying what i owe and nothing else happning? I feel bad about the whole thing and told the whole truth..the cops werent called or at the scene so im wondering what my chances are of keeping my perfect record in tact.

    Meijer....

-You can expect a Civil Demand notice of $250, as the merch was not sellable.
    - Yes, you will be fired from your job. You will NOT be collecting Unemployment, as you were fired for theft. (If they have not yet fired you, trust me, they will)
    - $67.....your file was likely passed on to the county officials. So you can expect a court date.
    - You can expect, if you have not been already, to be banned from ALL Meijer Stores for a period of time.

Yes, you will have legal issues and face prosecution. Didn't want those - you should not have stolen.

Chances of paying what you owe and nothing happening....about 0%.

Chances of keeping your perfect record intact? The same as Charlie Sheen never saying anything else crazy.

You need to talk to a Criminal Defense Lawyer. If you can't afford a lawyer, plead Not Guilty and ask for a Public Defender.

Stay out of ALL Meijer stores. Period.

What kind of college program are you in? You may need to re-think it. Many degrees require a perfectly clear criminal record....so check into that before wasting tuition.....

In some cases, you may be able to ask a judge for a deferment... this means that as long as your serve your probation as a model citizen, you may be able to have the charge removed from your record.

meijers doesnt prosecute for anything under 100 dollars unles its was state property like lottery or cash. I just got discounts and some stuff wasnt rung up. Im majoring in buisness at GRCC. I wouldnt imagine gettting into that much trouble. i could see i civil demand payment but the person who has the final ruiling in my case is my store director who i have a good relationship with..my lp said if i got punished legaly it would be suprising seeing how i confessed and everything i said matched with what evidence they had. They said my honesty and info could save my job and legal trouble.

I'm friends with many LP elsewhere in Michigan.....and Meijer WILL prosecute for less than $100. And yes, they have fired people for a hell of a lot less.

If you want to keep your "perfect record intact", you should refrain from stealing.

If you believe you have all of the answers, why are you here?

If I were your manager I would fire you, but might not prosecute. But for what will actually happen? You'll have to wait and see.
