To convince the court, the minor MUST show that they are or will be fully self-supporting. This means having the ability (or record) of paying full market rent, their own utilities, food, health insurance, clothing, transportation.....
Look - emancipation isn't for kids who hate their parents or who are unhappy at home. Emancipation is for two types of kids - the first being the Miley Cyrus/Macauley Culkins of the world. The second, being those kids who through no fault of their own (think "parents killed in plane wreck") need the ability to sign a lease, get the utilities switched over, that sort of thing.
Again, if this minor is being abused then child protective services needs to be involved.
Emancipation really isn't on the table here.
