My question involves criminal law for the state of: Florida. I recently have been released for prison on my 7 year sentence for drug trafficking. I have a restitution of $105,000.00. I'm supposed to pay this back in 3 years or I will lose my license and whatever else. I'm totally starting from scratch. I don't understand how they expect you to start over with that type of record, and still pay that type of restitution. It's ridiculous. I've done 7 years...I'm not trying to go back. I'm out here trying to do right, but jobs don't come easy to people with record. And to top it off, the state does not help any individuals with drug trafficking charges. How do they expect to stop recidivism? I need help knowing what I can do as far as a civil lien. I heard it was possible. Please Help! I just want the life I missed while I traveled down the wrong path. I mean, I did my 7 years...why should I have to go back because they want more? It's impossible for me to make that money legally in time to stay out of trouble.
